Welcome to Homeless Connect! 

By participating in this one-day annual event, you are helping to open doors and connect homeless, near homeless and recently housed individuals to services within the community.

DUTIES:


  • Arriving at the event a few minutes before your shift to collect a Volunteer T-shirt and be giving instructions.
  • Roles will be given prior to the event if not specified on the volunteer registration on the next page.
  • Guides will meet the individual at the event entrance and escort them throughout the event. Once the individual is okay and not needed, the guides will return to the entrance for the next individual.
  • Greeters will be at the doors of Mac island and will show individuals where to go.
  • Runners will help the service providers with manning the booths or anything that they may need.
 
COMFORT TIPS AND COMMUNICATION:
  • You will be walking or standing for the majority of the day. Please make sure you wear comfortable clothing and good walking shoes.
  • Lunch will be provided between 12pm to 1pm and snacks throughout the day.


Once registered, you will receive a confirmation a few days prior to the event with more instruction.
The personal information on the volunteer application is collected under the authority of section 33(c) of Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. It will be used to process and evaluate your application to be a volunteer and to contact you if necessary.
