The Anne Wallace Sugar Sifter Trophy is the SWI's national baking competition celebrating Scotland’s rich culinary heritage and the skill of our home bakers. This year’s entry is a traditional Dundee cake, showcasing craftsmanship, flavour, and attention to detail. Each submission should be beautifully baked and presented, reflecting the classic character of this much-loved recipe while allowing room for individual flair in finish and decoration.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Each Federation may submit one entry only.
  • Federations may hold local heats to select their representative entry.

  • 1st Place: Anne Wallace Sugar Sifter
Important notes:
  • All entries will be judged and exhibited at the Members’ Gathering (formerly the National Conference) at the Apex Hotel, Dundee, on 11th & 12th September 2026.
  • Entry must be a Dundee Cake (maximum size 6" round) presented on a white paper plate.
Entries can be:
  • Delivered by hand at the Members' Gathering on Friday 11th September 2026, between 8am and 9am, OR
  • Delivered to a local Federation hub by Wednesday 9th September 2026.
We aim to coordinate with Federations to set up local drop-off and collection hubs, making entering easier and more cost-effective.

  • Entry form deadline: 26th June 2026 (no late entries accepted).
  • Entry fee: £10 per Federation entry.
  • Once your entry form is received, you will be emailed an identification number (e.g. AW01) to label your entry.
