At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:
- List the principles of spinal motor plasticity caused by repeated, brief exposures to low oxygen (intermittent hypoxia) .
- Discover therapeutic potential of intermittent hypoxia to restore respiratory and non-respiratory motor function after SCI
- Appreciate safety issues related to the dose of intermittent hypoxia.
- Describe the rationale of efforts to harness acute intermittent hypoxia as a therapeutic modality.
- Update recent findings in the translation of this promising treatment modality to humans with chronic SCI.
