About The Forum The Diversity & Inclusion in Leisure Forum (The Forum) will provide an annual showcase of local evidence-based best practice initiatives supporting inclusion of underrepresented groups in the facilities, programs, services, and employment provided by the aquatic, leisure, recreation and fitness sector.
The Forum will be held at Aerial, University of Technology Sydney (Building 10, Level 7/235 Jones St., Ultimo) on Wednesday November 19, 2025, between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
The Forum is being offered through a collaborative effort of leading professional organisations, government organisations, operators of aquatic and recreation facilities, researchers, advocates and champions of inclusion.
About Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
- EOIs are open until COB Tuesday 2nd September, and must be submitted through the online submission process
- EOIs are welcome from any person or group for any evidence-based initiative that through sharing can contribute to improved diversity and inclusion in the aquatic, leisure, recreation and fitness sector
- There are no limits on the number of EOIs that can be submitted by any person or group
- EOIs will be reviewed and selected by a panel of representatives from the aquatic, leisure, recreation and fitness sector
- Contacts submitting an EOI selected to be presented at the Forum will be contacted by a member of the working group

About Presentation Requirements
- Presentations to be delivered TEDx style (13mins plus 2mins question time) with a maximum of 5 slides
- Topics must have a specific focus on local NSW/ACT initiatives directly related to aquatic, leisure, recreation and fitness sector facilities, programs, services and employment
- Topics must be evidence-based, and share information that illustrates the need, impact and/or sustainability of the initiative
- Topics that include information about translation (uptake) into practice and sustainability of the initiative throughout the leisure, aquatic, recreation and fitness sector are strongly encouraged
About Priority Topics and Groups
- Topics: priority topics include customer service, marketing & communication, resources and staff training; other topics are welcome
- Groups: priority groups include people living with disability, people of culturally diverse backgrounds, people living with mental illness, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTQ+ community; initiatives supporting other groups are welcome
