VMS Peer-to-Peer Support Network:
 Practitioner's Agreement

The Vermont Medical Society has received a number of messages from retired members who are asking how they can support YOU as the fight against COVID-19 continues to affect Vermont’s health care system. A Peer-to-Peer Support Network is available to active VMS members who could benefit from discussing experiences, concerns, or hopes in a safe virtual-space with a seasoned volunteer.

This could look like....
  • A regularly scheduled phone call or video chat between you and an experienced (typically retired or semi-retired) VMS Member.
  • Practical or personal advice when appropriate, based on the volunteer’s experience as a health professional.
  • A safe, positive space for you to share what’s been happening since the outbreak began and to receive guidance during this unique situation.
1.What is your first name?
2.What is your last name?
3.What is your preferred email address?
4.Are you comfortable making initial contact with a Peer Mentor?
5.If you answered 'NO' to the above question, will you allow Vermont Medical Society employees to share your contact information with a Peer Mentor? (Ideally, participants would contact Peer Mentors directly and you'll work together to arrange mutually convenient times, methods and frequency of communication).
6.We are asking all participants to respect the following guidelines.
Do you agree to participate in this network fully acknowledging that this initiative is NOT...
  • A clinical counseling service
  • A ‘helpline’
  • An opportunity for Peer Mentors to provide legal or detailed practice management advice
  • An opportunity for Peer Mentors to assist in the diagnosing or treatment of patients
7.Do you have additional questions, comments, or concerns for the Vermont Medical Society staff?
