Multicore or Parallelism Questionnaire Consent Form
You are invited to complete a demographics survey about your background in parallel computing. You were selected as a participant because you are currently taking or have taken course modules related to parallel computing.
Background Information:
The purpose of this instrument is to inform computer science educators about students' understanding and reasoning related to parallel computing.
Procedures:
If you choose to participate you will answer a series of multiple choice and open response questions to provide some demographic information to help us characterize those who've taken the assessment.
Risks and Benefits of Being in the Study:
Although there are no known risks to participating, the potential benefit will be to contribute to improved instruction in college classes related to parallel computing.
Confidentiality:
Students' identities will be known to the researchers based on a unique access code assigned to by student. Your results will remain confidential. Any published papers will report results in the aggregate. Assessment instrument security will be maintained through password protection.
Voluntary Nature of the Study:
Participation in this study is voluntary. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Saint Olaf College, Macalester College or any other cooperating institutions. If you decide to participate, you are free not to answer any questions or withdraw at any time without affecting those relationships.
