Meet Your Candidate for Vice President - Running Unopposed

My name is Kenneth Ennis and I am the current Public Safety Communications Director for the Pharr Public Safety Communications Department (PSC 9-1-1). I am a second-generation public safety communications professional as my mother served in the profession for 44 years. I was intrigued with public safety ever since I was a child. I couldn’t wait to start giving back to my community, so I started off my public safety career during high school as a volunteer firefighter for the Donna Fire department. Even though I was in public safety as a firefighter it wasn’t the same, I couldn’t shake the feeling of watching my mother field calls and dispatch units for police, fire, and EMS as I did my homework in the back of the communications office. So, I began my career in public safety communications in 2002 as a Telecommunications Officer for Edcouch Police Department and 21 years later I never looked back. Over those years I dedicated my professional career to public safety becoming a licensed police officer and EMT. I also hold a passion for higher education in our field as I have several certificates and licenses in law enforcement, emergency management, emergency medical services, and Public safety Telecommunications. I truly feel there is no greater award than that of representing and supporting the profession and its unsung heroes doing the day-to-day job as a Telecommunications Officers.
I have served as the Southern Regional Coordinator for Texas NENA and am also serving as the NENA 2023 Conference Volunteer Chair. I am dedicated to inspiring and advancing all Telecommunications Officers in Public Safety Communications any way possible
I would be honored to have your support for the position of Vice President of Texas NENA
