Hartford Transportation Community Survey

The City of Hartford is conducting the Hartford Shared Mobility Study to explore transportation options that could make getting around easier and more affordable. The study aims to develop a community-driven shared mobility program for Hartford, including a service plan, phasing plan, and governance and financing structure, with a key focus on equity and ensuring the program serves historically underrepresented communities. As such, we want to know what would work for you and your neighbors.

This survey is being conducted by the Hartford Shared Mobility Study team on behalf of the City of Hartford to gather feedback from Hartford residents.

What is shared mobility? Transportation you borrow or rent as needed, such as bikes, scooters, hourly rental cars, or on-demand accessible shuttles. The study is examining four modes: shared scooters, shared bicycles (including cargo and accessible options), micro-transit on-demand shuttles, and car sharing. These would be introduced in phases, starting with improvements to what already exists and building toward a fully connected network of options across the city.

Who should take this survey? Any Hartford resident who finds getting around difficult or costly, including people with disabilities, parents, seniors, teenagers, or anyone who struggles to reach a grocery store, medical appointment, or school pickup. No prior experience with these services is needed.

Your responses will directly inform the City's transportation planning and investment decisions. Public input shapes the final recommendations, including which services get funded, where they operate, and how affordable they are. The survey takes about five minutes. Participation is voluntary and anonymous. For questions or to withdraw your responses, contact jcohen@melissajohnsonassociates.com.
