If you live on the Wirral, Merseyside's Police Commissioner would like to hear your views on where you would like your local police station to be located.

Jane Kennedy has identified the first four venues where new Community Police Stations could be opened to replace old, closed stations and she is now asking for your feedback.

Hoylake
In Hoylake, Jane is proposing to replace the closed police station with a Community Police Station located in Hoylake Community Centre at 31 Hoyle Road.
This Community Centre is used by a wide variety of groups to facilitate a host of activities, including baby and toddler sessions, dance, drama and theatre groups, exercise classes and counselling services. It is also used by long-standing community groups, such as Wirral Older People’s Parliament and offers a range of rooms for hire, including a sensory room for those with additional needs.

Moreton
In Moreton, Jane is proposing to replace the closed police station with a new Community Police Station located in Moreton Library / One Stop Shop on Pasture Road.
Moreton Library is a multi-functional site, housing a One Stop Shop, a Citizens Advice Bureau and a large IT suite for public use. Groups such as Healthwatch also come into the library once a week to offer advice to members of the public and the venue runs regular baby and toddler sessions for younger users.

Birkenhead North
In Birkenhead, Jane is proposing to replace the old Laird Street Police Station, with a new Community Police Station located in the St. James Centre at 344 Laird Street.
The Centre is managed by North Birkenhead Development Trust and houses a number different services under one roof, including Wirral Met College, 121 Midwives, St James Library, Bidston and St James Children’s Centre and the Open Door Café. The venue also hires out rooms to various community groups for workshops and seminars.

Rock Ferry
In Rock Ferry, Jane is proposing to replace the former Well Lane Police Station with a new Community Police Station in the Rock Ferry Centre at 259 Old Chester Road.
The Rock Ferry Centre encorporates the local Library and One Stop Shop, as well as a variety of services, including a Citizens Advice Bureau, Connexions and Wirral Lifelong and Family Learning Service, all of which offer a wide variety of support and advice to the local community. It also offers a range of different activities the community can participate in, including Tai Chi, Circuit Training, Get into Reading classes and baby and toddler sessions.
