Will Eisner Week is an annual series of in-person and online events (Online Resources: HERE) held every March celebrating Graphic Novels, Comics & Sequential Art, Free Speech, and the legacy of comics pioneer, Will Eisner (1917-2005). Much of the comics and graphic novel culture today — from the most popular superheroes to cutting-edge visual and narrative experimentation — derives from the work and thinking of Will Eisner. His work is as relevant today as ever. Will Eisner Week is devoted to keeping Eisner’s legacy alive and in the public eye.
Will Eisner Week events have been held worldwide for over ten years . Events have included online and in-person comic cons, panels, comics & graphic novel displays, book sales, comics creator workshops, film screenings, podcasts, and more. They have been held in schools, universities, libraries, museums, bookstores, comic book shops, and many other venues. Last year events were held in over 100 locations in the US and Internationally.
Every event starts with someone like you: someone who wants to expand awareness of an aspect of comics & sequential art in their community. If you would like to put together an event, or suggest a person or group you think would, please let us know. Event organizers receive the Will Eisner Week Playbook with plenty of information and examples of prior events, plus FREE Large Wall Posters, and flyers for marketing. Download a Playbook now HERE or a Playbook Addendum about holding virtual events HERE.
If you're interested in organizing an event or helping in any way, please complete the following short survey. It will only take a few minutes and all answers are strictly confidential. If you don't know a required answer, you can always come back to correct it.
The sooner we know of your interest, the sooner we can answer questions and help with the marketing materials and social marketing. We're looking forward to working together!
