Western NS Local Immigration Partnership 

An integral part of the Local Immigration Partnership is  the Immigration Advisory Committee.
This committee will consist of 10-20 newcomers to Canada residing in the Western Region, representing a diversity of cultures, languages, ages, and stages of settlement and integration. A minimum of 25% of the IAC members will have been in Canada for less than 5 years as well as a minimum of 1 youth member. 

The Immigrant Advisory Committee members will be highly engaged community champions excited to build a more welcoming and inclusive region and to support improved integration and retention outcomes for newcomers.

The IAC will meet approximately 4 times per year to offer their insight into the development and implementation of a local settlement strategy, integration, and retention plan.
