Township of Wellington North – Community Growth Plan – On-line survey

The Township of Wellington North is preparing a Community Growth Plan to build a vision and direction that will help to shape the future to the year 2041 and beyond.

The Township and County are part of a large region referred to as the Greater Golden Horseshoe, which includes the Greater Toronto Area and its surroundings. The Provincial Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe sets out how much growth should be planned for, and where and how growth should be accommodated.

As of 2016, the Township’s population is 12,490 and expected to grow to 17,685 (an increase of 5,195 residents) by 2041. As of 2016, local employment is at 7,070 jobs and is expected to grow to 9,440 job by 2041, an increase of 2,370 jobs.

The purpose of the Community Growth Plan is to create a local strategy for managing and directing the planned population and employment growth in Wellington North, aligned with investments in infrastructure, transportation and community services. It may also be used to inform future updates to the Wellington County Official Plan.

Community consultation is an important part of the process. There are several ways to participate in the process, including this online survey. The survey will take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete and is divided into three parts:

  • Some background demographic information
  • Questions about community strengths, areas for improvement, future needs and opportunities for positive change
  • Questions about ideas and preferences for future directions to shape growth and development
The survey is anonymous. At the end of the survey you will have an opportunity to add your email to a mailing list to be kept updated about the Community Growth Plan. If you supply your email you will be entered into a draw to win a Wellington North Simply Explore gift basket.
