Waitlist Form Instructions

The auto fill from waitlist process is only recommended for faculty who have experience with high volume, impacted courses with full waitlists, and/or classes with high turnover at the beginning of the term. See the Online Waitlist Document for more details. For faculty who want complete control over their waitlist, and/or do not have full waitlists, it is recommended to use the regular add from waitlist process as described in the Adding Waitlisted Students document.

Please note that by filling out this form and adding students from the waitlist, you will enroll the course beyond the course cap. You are taking a chance that the number of waitlisted students you add over your course cap will be offset by the typical number of drops in an online course.

The auto fill from waitlist process allows online instructors to add 5 or 10 students from the waitlist to their class roster. Use this form to: move students from the waitlist into your class; adjust your waitlist; close the waitlist and/or add students who are not on your waitlist. You can also indicate if a new waitlist should be opened after the rollover. Requests will be processed approximately 2 weeks before the term starts.

For example, if you have 6 people on the waitlist and roll 5 of them into the class, then you could specify a new waitlist of 5, which would leave you with 1 student on the waitlist and 4 remaining open slots. Once the form has been processed, students will be notified by email that they are enrolled in the course.

To send your request click Submit below. If you have one or two students that you need to add to your class but they are NOT on the waitlist please check the box below and then click submit.

Keep in mind that these students are added in addition to any waitlist students you have requested to rollover and may over enroll the course beyond the course cap. You are taking a chance that the number of waitlisted students you add over your course cap will be offset by the typical number of drops in an online course.
