2027 Washington Youth Tour - Teacher or Counselor Recommendation

A Leadership Experience

Once a year, local high school students are selected by Sumter EMC to represent our cooperative and state as delegates on the Washington Youth Tour. This top-notch leadership experience and tour of Washington, D.C. includes meetings with state and national leaders, leadership training, and visits to all the major sights. Participants join over 1,500 other students from around the nation—all expenses paid—for one incredible week in our nation's capital.

List 3 words to accurately describe this applicant.
How long and in what capacity have you known the applicant?
How comfortable do you feel this applicant will be about spending a week away from home with a large group of unfamiliar people? This trip will involve being away for an extended period and interacting with many others, so it's important to assess how they handle new environments and social situations. We strive to find students that will benefit from this trip, but also need to make sure they are ready and able to leave their comfort zone (parents, friends, etc.) for a week. Teachers and counselors know the students, so please give us a recommendation based on this information.
