* 5. For some age cohorts, we are considering including on reports an analysis of the grade distribution for the course (how many got each A-E grade). What are your thoughts on this?

* 6. We are considering assessing achievement with textual responses (Comprehensive, Thorough, Sound, Basic, Elementary) rather than A-E grades. What are your thoughts on this?

* 7. We are considering replacing an assessment of Effort (very subjective) with a report on Engagement in Learning to focus on the frequency at which students demonstrate appropriate levels of organisation, application, focus, cooperation and reflection. What are your thoughts on this?

* 8. We are also considering reporting on a student’s demonstration of growth in the Character Traits and Learning Behaviours we know to be central to their development, both as a person and as a learner.

Whilst we plan to maintain a very personal comment from Junior School Classroom Teachers and Senior School Tutors that captures the essence of a student’s engagement in School life, we are considering replacing the course-based comment with more focused individual statements that summarise specific Areas for Improvement and Recommended Parent Actions. Parents ought to understand that comments are the most time-consuming component of Academic Reports. Given that much of that which a teacher writes in a comment can be stated in other ways in the Report, ways that facilitate more specific engagement, how attached to course-based comments are you?.'

* 10. Finally, parents will be interested to know that we are considering moving towards continuous reporting in the years to come, negating the need for Semester Reports and providing information at parents’ fingertips when they need it.
