The Youth Commission consists of up to 30 appointed members, half of whom are electors of the town and half of whom are student residents of the town.

Responsible for promoting the positive development of all youth in their families, schools, community, and among their peers, the Commission assesses the needs and interests of young people in Westport, encouraging programs, and developing resources to respond to these needs. 

Past Projects of the Westport Youth Commission include: Toquet Hall Teen Center, Compo SkatePark, Teenflix, Police-Youth Programs, iMentor Internet Safety and more!
