Application for Trusted Disability Network

The Trusted Disability Network is an ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia (ECNV)/Multicultural Families effort to inform traditionally marginalized and underserved communities about information, services, rights, and opportunities that can enhance the lives of people with disabilities and their caregivers.

We are recruiting 15-25 Disability Champions who are trusted influencers within traditionally marginalized community networks to.

·         Advise us on culturally responsive ways to reach their community (1 meeting/month)

·         Adapt and share factual and culturally appropriate messaging about Covid-19 vaccinations or other disability information within their networks (1-2x/month).

·         Recruit and mentor a person with disability who wants to become an influencer.

The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities has funded ECNV to pay Disability Champions, who have disabilities themselves, $20/hour for their work to promote vaccinations and disseminate other disability information and rights in their communities who have not traditionally received disability-related information.
