Thank you for applying to participate in the 2022 Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) Africa program sponsored by the University of South Carolina Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).  This year, we are offering the following program:

FDIB-Africa:  South Africa (Cape Town, Johannesburg & Kruger National Park), led by the University of South Carolina (SC) CIBER and sponsored by multiple other CIBERs.

As this is simply an application form - and not a registration form - we will review your application for attendance to the FDIB-Africa program, then contact you as soon as possible to let you know if you have been accepted to participate in the program. When accepted as a participant, we will immediately provide you information concerning the program, to include fee payment, a DRAFT program itinerary and other pertinent information to help you prepare for the program.

So, if you would, please complete this short application form in order for us to make better informed decisions concerning the limited number of participant slots for the program (maximum of 18).  IMPORTANT:  As the 2020 and the 2021 FDIB-Africa programs were unfortunately cancelled due to the novel coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent travel restrictions, priority (i.e., if more applications received than available slots) will be given to those previously-approved participants who were not able to attend the programs in 2020 and 2021. But priority is no guarantee of automatic approval, as each application is considered on its own merit for participant attendance. Also, please note, that the program for 2022 may be altered, suspended or cancelled due to the on-going effects of the current coronavirus pandemic, to include (but not limited to): university business travel restrictions; destination mandatory quarantines; surges in infection rates; restrictions in lodging and transfers, lack of vaccination availability in the local area, etc.

CIBER stipends available:  The University of SC CIBER has two full program fee (double-occupancy) stipends available for MSI/CC outreach faculty, as well as two full airfare stipends (to be approved and purchased by the SC CIBER) for the program.  If qualified, please indicate if you are applying for one of these program fees and/or airfare stipends in your application.

Note: The deadline for submitting an application for the program is December 3, 2021 (although all slots may be taken by then). A wait-list will also be in effect until February 3, 2022.

Program Costs:
Faculty/Professional:     $6,000
Adult Guest of Faculty:  $5,000
PhD/Graduate Student:  $5,000

Note:  All fees are based upon double-room (sharing) rates; an additional $1,000 per program is required if a single room (not available at safari lodges where everyone rooms together) is requested.

Thank you.
