KSDE Fall 2026 Higher Ed program reviews poll 3 |
KSDE continues to seek reviewers for Fall 2026 program reviews. The reviews are planned to be held online; no travel is necessary. KSDE can reimburse school districts for substitutes if notified of the need more than 30 days before the review.
Program reviews help maintain strong educator preparation in Kansas. Each educator preparation program in Kansas must be reviewed and approved by the Kansas State Board of Education. Program reviews are a vital part of each college and university education unit's accreditation process.
Trained reviewers thoroughly examine the description and supporting documents of an educator preparation program in their content area, and work with fellow team members (4-5 reviewers per content area) to determine whether the program meets the Kansas higher education preparation program standards for that license/endorsement preparation. They also write any Areas for Improvement and complete a program review team report using a provided template. Refresher training is provided at the start of each review. The reviews will be held online. KSDE can reimburse school districts for substitutes if needed. Each review team meets one time only.

KSDE will schedule multiple review teams when there are more than two programs of the same content area for the same semester.
