To ensure regional attendees are able to participate in the World Trails Conference and contribute to the conversations as participants, we invite regional trail professionals to apply for a travel and accommodation bursary thanks to support from Lotterywest.

The Lotterywest bursary is available to help cover travel (flights, fuel allowance, bus, train) and accommodation for regional trails professionals to attend the 2026 World Trails Conference.

Successful applicants will still need to pay for their ticket registration to attend the conference.

A total bursary pool of $12,500 is available to support up to 25 recipients, with an initial allocation cap of $500 per person.

The final amount awarded per recipient will be subject to review based on the number of eligible applications received. Where fewer than 25 applicants are approved, a higher per-person allocation may be considered.

The bursary will be paid to accepted recipients, who meet the eligibility and criteria outlined below, after the World Trails Conference ends and prior to 30 November 2026.

Application Closing Dates:
Subsidies are granted in rounds until funding is exhausted (or registration closes on 30 September 2026).
  • Round 1: 27 July 2026
  • Round 2: 31 August 2026
  • Round 3: 21 September 2026
