Introduction

Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) Section 5848(a), the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) requires an inclusive and on-going Community Input Process. Counties shall demonstrate a partnership with constituents and stakeholders throughout the process that includes meaningful stakeholder involvement on mental health policy, program planning, and implementation, monitoring, quality improvement, evaluation, and budget allocations. 

Butte County Behavioral Health is seeking stakeholders from agencies, community members, and consumers/family members to be a part of the MHSA Steering Committee.


Committee Responsibilities:
  • The Committee will gather every other month Meetings will be held January, March, May, July, September, November of each calendar year.
  • Meetings will be 90 minutes long.
  • Special meetings may be scheduled to accommodate MHSA initiatives and workload.
  • Members will be asked to contribute to Committee work products, including review, feedback or recommendations for MHSA Plans, community input processes, etc.
  • Members will be asked to attend a minimum of 4 meetings, annually.
  • Members should exercise awareness of potential conflicts of interest with other MHSA programs and/or funding decisions.
  • Standing agenda items include Community Input, Innovation, Performance Review and networking opportunities.
