Massachusetts Advanced Cover Cropping Cohort

Project Overview

This program assembles a small group of five experienced farmers working to level up their cover cropping practices. The group will engage in facilitated peer learning and receive on-on-one technical assistance to innovate with cover crops to advance their soil health goals.

Each participating farmer commits to trying one new practice, and to utilizing input from peers and technical advisors to plan and implement the practice over two seasons. Each farmer receives a $5,000 award to support practice experimentation and implementation, and meets regularly over the winter months with the group to share progress, seek input, and troubleshoot. Participating farmers also commit to host one field walk over the life of the project, and to attend two of their peers’ field walks.
