Gilgandra Shire Council is looking at potentially establishing a Vacation Care service. The service would be available during the school holidays for children aged 5-12. It is estimated that the service would cost approximately $85 per day (before Childcare Subsidy).
Council is currently working on obtaining the necessary approvals to open a service. In order to determine key operational decisions (opening hours/days/staffing requirements etc), Council has established a working party. The working party has suggested that a survey be run to measure the communities demand, and to assist in deciding the number of children the service should accommodate and which days the service should operate.
