Within Our Reach '14 Volunteer Application

* 1. 1. Thank you for expressing interest in volunteering for the Within Our Reach Conference. As a volunteer you will receive complimentary admission and meals. Please be prepared to volunteer for 2 volunteer shifts. 1 shift between 4-6 hours on December 11th, 2014 and 1 shift between 4-6 hours on December 12th. We typically need help in the following areas:

- Registration Assistant | Help set up the registration area prior to the start of the conference. Assisting with a variety of tasks such as directing attendees, general registration, badge printing, speaker check in, setup/breakdown, etc.

- Directing Attendees & Breakfast/Lunch Waste Management | Help set up the registration area prior to the start of the conference. Assisting with a variety of tasks such as directing attendees to different programs, restrooms, exhibitor stations, etc. as well as monitoring waste disposal during and after meals as needed.

- Room Monitor for Plenary & Breakout Sessions | Monitor the session door and answer basic questions about the event. Display time warning cards for speakers, take room counts, run the mic for the Q&A session as well as maintain the drinking water station and assist the stage manager as needed.

* 4. As a volunteer you’ll be interacting with conference staff, attendees, sponsors and speakers. Roles vary and may include assisting at registration, helping with set-up and take-down, monitoring break-out session rooms and answering questions from attendees.

What do you hope to contribute as a volunteer? Please briefly describe any experience you have that prepares you for this role (bonus points for river related experience or interest).

* 5. Some volunteer positions require you to look up attendees by name through an electronic registration system and print name badges. Please indicate your comfort level and proficiency with computers with basic training.

I have excellent computer proficiency and feel comfortable performing the above tasks.

I have elementary computer proficiency but still feel comfortable performing the above tasks with basic training.

I do not have basic computer knowledge and cannot perform the above tasks.
