Road Map Project Region (South Seattle and South King County) community-based organizations, non-profits, and public sector partners: we invite you to a planning meeting to support your implementation of college and career related activities for children and youth in South Seattle and South King County on DiscoverU’s Lead Your Community Day - Friday, October 12th, 2018!

About the DiscoverU and the Community Design Team Meeting
DiscoverU is an exciting week for us to come together and support students in exploring career and college options. Each day of DiscoverU week has a theme. On Friday, October 12 there is a statewide teacher in-service day so students do not have school. For this reason, the theme on this day is #LeadYourCommunity. Community partners across the region will be coordinating activities for youth—and we hope you’ll be one of them! Nonprofit and public sector jobs can be rewarding career paths, but our students don’t often have the opportunity to learn about them. Through engaging activities, we hope that our partners will introduce K-12 youth to community-oriented work or connect them to leadership opportunities in their neighborhoods and outside of the classroom. Join the Community Center for Education Results to learn more about this year’s plans for DiscoverU, have time to plan your activity, and network with other nonprofit/public sector employees. Coffee/refreshments & lunch will be provided!
