In March of 2021, Congress passed, and President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) into law, which established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.  This fund helps local governments nationwide with COVID-19 pandemic recovery assistance.  The City of Williamsport will receive a total of $25,473,800 in direct appropriations from the US Treasury.  The city received $12,736,900 on May 19, 2021, and will receive the balance in May 2022. All funds must be spent by December 31, 2024.

This funding represents an opportunity for The City of Williamsport to emerge from the COVID pandemic and tackle critical issues facing city residents and businesses. The Mayor and City Council will solicit input for utilization of the funds from city departments and external organizations, and stakeholders.  Your feedback on this survey will help guide the use of the ARPA funds and help maximize the impact in our community.
