The IGF has been the nation's premier cleantech investment conference for 25 years. Without the dedicated investors who provide their time and insights to review, score and select new technology solutions to big world problems in a profitable and scalable way, this event would not be possible. Thank you for your continued support!

Ways to Participate:

Selection Committee Reviewer
(December 15th, 2019 to January 30th, 2020)

The IGF Selection Committee is responsible for selecting the start-up companies that will be invited to present at the conference.

  • Each reviewer will have several weeks to review, score, and provide constructive feedback on their assigned applications using our new online platform.
  • Depending on the total number of applications received, each reviewer can expect between 8 - 14 assigned applications. You will be matched with applications based on your investment interests and experience.
  • In early February, we will hold a conference call to discuss and ultimately select the 40 companies that will be invited to present at the IGF. If you are unable to attend the call, you are welcome to submit any discussion points beforehand.
  • After completing their assigned reviews, each reviewer will have access to all applications, scores, and reviewer comments. This is an excellent way to find promising start-up companies. If desired, the NREL team is happy to connect you with companies of interest.
Mentor a Presenter (February 15th, 2020 to April 28th, 2020)

We rely on our mentors to help the presenting companies craft a successful pitch. An effective presentation is critical to a company’s success at the IGF, so this is an excellent way to give back to a promising entrepreneur.
  • We ask mentors to meet with their assigned company at least three times (approx. 1 hour per meeting) before the IGF. These meetings can take place in person or over the phone.
  • In February, we will suggest potential mentees for you based on your investment interests, experience, and location.

1-on-1 Seated Professional (April 29th, 2020)

As a seated professional, you will have the opportunity to host your own table and accept/decline 10-minute meetings with entrepreneurs at the IGF.
  • To participate, you must be an investor, incubator/accelerator, or other professional offering resources to cleantech start-up companies.
  • In the weeks leading up to the event, we ask that you continually log in to the online meeting portal to respond to your meeting requests.
  • You must be present at the IGF from 9:15 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, April 29th, 2020 (you will have scheduled breaks during the session).
