2019 National Co+op Grocers Climate Collaborative Awards Application

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the 2019 National Co+op Grocers Climate Collaborative Awards!

Our awards highlight bold, innovative climate action in our industry and enable us to share best practices, solutions, and inspiration for others to follow suit. Read about our remarkable 2018 award winners.

Anyone can submit a nomination for the awards, but please note that only companies who meet the criteria listed in this survey are eligible to win. We encourage eligible companies to self-nominate.

About the Awards
Eight awards in total will be given out, across three categories:
  1. Outstanding Company: This award will go to brands, retailers and other companies demonstrating best practices, rapid progress on climate action and/or a new approach to climate change management. Only companies that have made commitments through the Climate Collaborative are eligible for this award.
  2. Outstanding Value Chain Engagement: This award will go to brands, retailers or other companies that are demonstrating best practices and ambitious climate action in a particular area of their value chain, from sourcing and supplier engagement to consumers. Only companies that have made commitments through the Climate Collaborative are eligible for this award.
  3. Outstanding Influencer: This award will go to a key company, organization or individual that has taken substantial action to help the industry act on climate change. Nominees do not need to have made a commitment through the Climate Collaborative.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees for Outstanding Company or Outstanding Value Chain Engagement awards should meet the following criteria:
  • Must have made at least three commitments to action through the Climate Collaborative.
  • Must be willing to demonstrate meaningful and quantifiable climate impact in at least one commitment area, and
  • Must be willing to publicly share their story.
  • Companies of all sizes and from every part of the natural products industry are welcome to make nominations. Companies are also encouraged to self-nominate.
The Outstanding Influencer award is open to individuals, organizations, service providers, or companies. Anyone can be nominated for this award, as long as they have taken steps to influence and drive action on climate change across the natural products industry in some way.

Companies are not eligible to win an award in the same category two years in a row but are eligible for awards in other categories.

How will the award recipients be recognized?
Winners will be notified in early 2019 and celebrated at our Climate Day awards ceremony happening as part of Expo West 2019. The Climate Collaborative and National Co+op Grocers will announce and publicize recipients through a press release, online articles, social media and other communications related to Expo West.
