Sector Deal Midlands Pilots
Background
The Rail Sector Deal was launched in December 2018. It forms the basis of the future relationship between the industry and government and is one of around 10 'deals' agreed as part of the government's Industrial Strategy. Others including automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, creative industries and artificial intelligence.
The Rail Sector Deal includes seven major work streams one of which is the delivery of two Midlands based pilots led by Rail Forum Midlands (RFM):
- development of shared apprenticeship scheme(s) and a co-ordinated regional schools strategy
- SME growth through collaboration.
As the delivery agent for this work we want to ensure that we both keep employers updated on what we are doing and planning and seek your involvement at all stages of the development of the pilots.
This initial survey will provide some information to bring companies up to date on progress/thinking and seek your views on some next steps. You don't have to be based in the Midlands to take part; everyone's views are valid and useful in helping to inform our activities.
