Doris Banta Memorial WILP Scholarship Application

The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) Women in the Legal Profession (WILP) Section welcomes women law students to apply for the Doris Banta Memorial WILP Scholarship. Application details and requirements can be found here.

Doris Banta, a true legal pioneer, graduated at the top of her class at Lindenwood College and proceeded to Cornell University Law School where she received Order of the Coif and was Editor and Chief of Cornell’s Law Review, becoming the second woman to serve as a law review editor in the United States. Following her admission to The Missouri Bar in 1946, she had an illustrious career with a major law firm. Thereafter, she served as General Counsel and Vice President of the St. Louis County Water Company. Doris was a role model for women attorneys and was respected by all who knew her.
