JCC presents Grant Opportunity - Lean White Belt Training
Lean White Belt Training - Employer Support Survey & Commitment to Participate
Jefferson Community College is completing an application to SUNY to support project management training. Specifically, the College is proposing a Lean White Belt Training available to employers at a significant discount. The SUNY Workforce Development Training grant will cover 75% of the total cost and employers will only have to pay 25%. The Workforce Development Office is aiming to complete the submission by August 25, 2023, and begin training September 20, 2023. The College will be providing the opportunity for local businesses to send employees to the following training:
Lean White Belt Training, 60 hours
Note: Exact cost per training will be determined once all employer support is received as the cost per trainee for each training must be distributed evenly across the overall number of trainees attending the training.
*The highest estimated total employer cost per trainee is $395.00 cash match and $592 in-kind match totaling $987 per trainee.
**The more trainees enrolled, the lower the cost per trainee.
Lean White Belt Training Description
SUNY Jefferson in partnership with CITEC presents the Lean White Belt Training. Lean White Belt certification demonstrates that the professional understands and implements Lean practices, creating a positive change in your organization. Lean White Belt certification offers an in-depth view of Lean tools and precepts to enable individuals to engage in as well as develop the skills to lead Lean projects throughout their organization.
Days one and two cover foundational Lean tools and focus identification of in-plant opportunities for improvement. Days three and four cover additional Lean tools, create value stream maps and result in clarification of the in-plant project to be approved by management. The remainder of the course builds toward project completion while teaching facilitation skills, project management, team management, and basic change management with a focus on how to ensure that project gains are sustained and built upon moving forward.

All class sessions will be held Wednesdays 8:00 am to 4:00 pm EST, in person at the JCC Watertown Campus.
