Message from Dr. Mason

In an effort to alleviate overcrowding and accommodate expected growth, the Vestavia Hills Board of Education initiated the development of a comprehensive facilities plan for our schools. The Board formally adopted a plan in April 2017 which will be referenced in this survey.

Recently, the Board was presented with the possibility of purchasing the campus of Gresham Elementary School from the Jefferson County Board of Education.

We are seeking to answer this question: Would the acquisition of Gresham make possible a new facilities plan that would be preferable to the plan adopted by the Board earlier this year?

This survey will outline the Board-adopted plan as well as two options under consideration which include the Gresham campus. You will be asked to carefully read each plan, then share any pros, cons and/or questions you may have. Your comments are confidential and will be shared directly with the Superintendent and Board of Education. This survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

The deadline to complete this survey is November 22, 2017.

Thank you for your participation,
Charles Mason, Ed.D.
Interim Superintendent
Vestavia Hills City Schools
