The main aim of EVOLVE is to drive safer, higher quality patient care through the identification and reduction of low-value clinical practices. ‘Low-value’ practices are clinical practices, whether these are tests, procedures or other practices, which are overused, inappropriate and/or of limited effectiveness (and in extreme cases, potentially harmful). The result will be the development of a Top 5 ‘low value’ practices list for each specialty. This will be used as the basis for promoting clinical change within each specialty.

There are 10 questions in this survey which should take you roughly 15 minutes to complete.

For Questions 1 to 6 you will be presented with a recommendation regarding a clinical practice in the addiction medicine specialty or which is within the expertise of addiction medicine specialist  physicians. You will also be presented with a summary of the evidence regarding that recommendation (and the clinical practice it discourages).

Please rate each recommendations against the two criteria from 1 to 5 where 1 means 'not applicable' and 5 means 'very applicable'.

You will also have an opportunity to make a written comment on each of these recommendations.

Question 7  will allow you to write in new suggestions (if you have any). Finally, questions 8 to 10 will ask you for some demographic information to identify if there are some systemic differences in responses based on characteristics of a clinical practice.
