OVERVIEW & INSTRUCTIONS

The OCWHP is seeking abstracts for Poster Presentations at the 7th OC Women’s Health Summit on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Beckman Center.

SUMMIT OVERVIEW:  The Women’s Health Summit is an annual conference for professionals to discuss the state of women’s health in OC. The 7th Summit will focus on advancing health equity for women in OC.  Presentations will examine how inequities related to race, immigrant status, sexuality, geography, and socioeconomics intersect with gender to impact women’s health in OC.
 
Health equity is achieved when every person has a fair and equal opportunity to reach their optimal health and no one is disadvantaged due to their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, zip code or other circumstances. Learn more about this year’s theme here.

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES:
Abstracts submitted should feature research, pilot programs, or innovative preventive/intervention strategies that address health inequities impacting women in Orange County and gender issues in health care access and treatment.

Posters should provide visual representation of the research and/or program. We encourage submission of unpublished work, including reports of research, or innovative services, practices, educational initiatives, or policy work related to the conference themes.

- Researchers, evaluators and academics​

- Foundations/Health funders
- Community Based Organizations
- ​G​raduate Students

POSTER SESSION:  The Poster Session will be held from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm on Nov. 8 and poster presenters should be available for discussion with Summit attendees. Posters will be displayed all day so presenters must set up by 8:30 a.m.  Presenters will receive discounted registration ($25) and are encouraged to attend the full-day Summit.

Only 1 presenter is allowed per poster. Due to space constraints no A/V or table space will be provided. Easels, boards, and clips will be provided.  It is the presenter’s responsibility to print and bring your poster to the Summit. Posters should be approx. 36 in. x 48 in.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  Friday, September 20 5:00 p.m. PST (deadline was extended from August 30). Abstracts that do not follow APA format, or are submitted after the deadline, will not be considered.
