You are invited to participate in a research study that aims to understand how certain difficult childhood experiences may shape us in adulthood, particularly our health and lifestyle. Given the limited research on this important topic in India, your participation in this study will be very valuable. Please take your time to read the following information carefully. Your participation and the findings will help the researchers generate knowledge in the field of mental health in India and also create better support interventions. Please note that you can participate in this study only if you are above 18 years of age.
If you choose to participate, please provide your consent in the form you will see next. Should you agree, you will then be asked to complete a set of questionnaires, which will take approximately 15 minutes. As per ethical guidelines for conducting scientific studies, your data and personal information are entirely anonymous and kept confidential at all times. Please note that you are not compelled to participate in any way, and participation in this research is entirely voluntary. You have the full right to withdraw your information post the study, as well as before publication, without any explanation to the researcher.
Once you begin filling out the form, please do not close the tab or leave it unattended for a long time, as this may cause the form to close automatically. You may, however, take short pauses as needed while completing it.
While we do not anticipate any serious risks, if discussing past experiences may cause emotional discomfort, then please feel free to take a break, withdraw from the study and/or seek support using helpline numbers at the end of the study. We will provide you with a list of crisis helplines, in case you feel the need for additional support when you close the survey.
