Wearable Art Runway Show Application Guidelines
We are thrilled to invite you to submit an entry for our 2026 Wearable Art Runway Show which will be on Saturday, May 16, 2026! This unique event celebrates creativity, sustainability, and innovation in fashion. Below are the detailed guidelines and rules for creating and submitting your wearable art outfit.
Eligibility & Concept
All are welcome to submit their creations for the runway show. We also highly encourage student entries. Selected submissions must include a complete outfit with a headpiece or mask, and at least 75% of the materials used must be repurposed or upcycled. Repurposed or upcycled materials are items used in a manner different from what it was originally intended to be used for.
The Wearable Art Runway Show encourages inventive designs that push the boundaries of traditional fashion while maintaining the spirit of sustainability and craftsmanship. Up to three pieces may be submitted per artist. Each piece requires a separate entry form. Twenty (20) ensembles will be selected for the show.
Design Requirements
Material Composition: At least 75% of the materials used in the outfit must be repurposed, recycled, or upcycled. Designers are encouraged to be creative in sourcing materials, using unconventional items such as plastics, metals, fabrics, and found objects.
Headpiece or Mask: Every ensemble must include a headpiece or mask as a key component. This accessory should be cohesive with the overall outfit and reflect the artistic theme.
Wearability: Although creativity is encouraged, the piece must be wearable. The model should be able to walk the runway safely and comfortably in the ensemble.
Application Process
Submission Deadline: All application forms and design concepts must be submitted by March 9, 2026. Late submissions will only be considered if there is space in the show.
