The Oregon Medical Board’s Acupuncture Advisory Committee has reviewed two requests to amend acupuncture rules and asked a workgroup to evaluate and provide a recommendation on whether:
1. The National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM) Route 4 Pathway meets the standards required to qualify for acupuncture licensure in Oregon. If applicable, also provide draft rule language for consideration.
2. Acupuncture clinical supervisors may satisfy the experience requirement through a treatment volume standard, a minimum of 5,000 treatments across at least 250 patients, as an alternative to the current five years of experience requirement. If applicable, also provide draft rule language for consideration.
