The goal of this forum is to bring representatives from businesses, non-profit organizations, funding agencies, and the justice system to discuss benefits, challenges and strategies for hiring individuals who have diverse employment barriers including offender backgrounds.
We are sponsoring this forum to start the dialogue about how we work together as a community to collectively increase job and career pathway opportunities for individuals who want to return to the workforce and a productive life. We are structuring this forum to promote dialogue, and to identify the core issues that need to be defined and addressed so that these individuals are able to obtain and retain employment, and are able to be an excellent addition to the workforce in Metro Denver.
We hosted our first successful forum in Denver on December 3, 2014. We are inviting North-Metro representatives to this forum to facilitate region-wide opportunities for participation. We hope to create connections among employers, justice system representatives, public agencies, funders and service providers.
