The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources are partnering to develop the Western North Carolina Creative Economy Strategic Plan. The plan will identify strategies to strengthen the region's creative economy as a driver of economic growth, entrepreneurship, workforce development, tourism, downtown revitalization, and community development.
This survey builds on the many planning efforts, listening sessions, and recovery initiatives already taking place across the region. Rather than duplicate those efforts, it brings together perspectives from artists, creative businesses, economic development organizations, educators, workforce partners, tourism organizations, local governments, and other stakeholders to help shape a shared regional vision.
