Standards in Public Life Act Amendment Consultation 2026

The Commission for Standards in Public Life (CSPL) invites Persons in Public Life and members of the general public to provide feedback on proposed amendments to the Standards in Public Life Act, 2021.

The CSPL is an independent government oversight body established in the Cayman Islands Constitution Order, 2009 to set and uphold the standards for good governance in the public service. The Standards in Public Life Act, among other things, outlines the powers of the CSPL, establishes the how the Register of Interests (which makes the interests, assets, income and liabilities of Persons in Public Life accessible to the public) operates, enables the CSPL to conduct investigations into ethical and code of conduct breaches, and outlines how conflicts of interests should be managed.

Your feedback will be used to inform the proposed changes to this important piece of legislation. The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

Once the survey is completed, all responses will be compiled and analysed, along with feedback from consultation meetings, for the CSPL to consider as it finalises the proposed amendments.

If you have any questions about this process you can contact the CSPL at info@standardsinpubliclifecommission.ky or by calling 244-3685.
