So anyway... is a free community storytelling series that celebrates the stories that life has always been built on: stories shared around dinner tables, over fish boils, on front porches, at family gatherings, across coffee shop tables. Stories that make us laugh, make us think, and remind us that we're more alike than we realize.
These curated storytelling jams, held at various venues throughout the county, bring together neighbors, visitors, lifelong locals, and newcomers for evenings of authentic, personal storytelling. No judges. No competition. No pressure. Just real people sharing real stories in a welcoming, supportive space. There are no themes or topics, but every story must begin with "So anyway..."
Stories should be 7 to 10 minutes long and told from the heart. First-timers are especially encouraged to apply. Because each event is carefully curated, it may take a while before you're scheduled if your story is chosen. If your story is selected, we will email you with a proposed performance date and other details. We ask storytellers not to read from notes or a manuscript. Authenticity matters far more than perfection, and we'll help you prepare.
