Creating strategic project goals and mitigating harmful emergent properties is easier when starting research programs with those most impacted by the emerging technosocial collective. Getting “ready” to collaborate with end-users, particularly those from underrepresented groups, can be full of nuanced opportunity to learn and better research approaches and practices. From thinking how to making an initial connection, expanding recruitment processes, and being mindful on how to support a community through research, this workshop will show you how equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices can help spark a positive impact to enrich your work and impacts outside the Academy.
