The Elie Wiesel Study Tour is planned to take place in two phases. The first one is the online course (17 August - 04 September); the second phase is the physical Study Tour, between 27th January - 05th February 2021. This is a program sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Moldova and Romania and coordinated by American Councils for International Education-Romania, with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Romania, the Elie Wiesel National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania and CCSS Tei.

If you wish to become one of the 5 participants we plan to select, please answer the questions in the Application Form below. There are two sections: the first one requires personal information and the second one contains 5 narrative questions which you must answer. This application form is to be completed entirely in English. The answer limit is of a maximum of 25 rows per question.

The 5 questions you need to answer are:

1. How would you approach the history of the Holocaust in Moldova – as part of the history of the Jewish community or as part of the national history? Please explain your choice.*
2. Which of the following aspects of the history of the Holocaust are of interest to you: 1. Victims; 2. Perpetrators; 3. Means of persecution and extermination; 4. Memory and social representations? Please elaborate on your chosen answer. *
3. Are there cultural, societal, national, or humanitarian lessons that contemporary society can learn from studying the history of the Holocaust? *
4. What differences/ similarities can you find between the Holocaust and other traumatic phenomena of the 20th-century history? *
5. How are you planning to use/ integrate the knowledge acquired during the study tour in your activity?* *
