Short Story/Poetry Contests:
Participants in the Contests must be 18 year or older OR have consent to participate from a parent or legal guardian. Please review the Submission Guidelines and Rubric before making your submission. If you have any questions, you may email the contest committee at shortstories@sjlibrary.org.
Community Collections:
SJPL is highlighting two themed Community Collections: World on the Move and National Coming Out Day. The World on the Move Collection is themed around migration, displacement, and human movement. The National Coming Out Day Collection invites members of the LGBT + community to share their coming out story. You can also share the coming out story you hope to have or the one you wish you had. It could be true, or it could be fantasy – that's all up to you. Community Collections are accepted all year round. When submitting your themed story on the Short Edition portal, please indicate the Community Collection in the genre field. We eagerly await your stories and are thrilled to share them with our community!
Rolling Submissions:
Rolling Submissions of any genre are accepted all year round.
