2.Welcome to City of Boston Green New Deal Workforce Needs Assessment Employer Survey
This survey is to help the City of Boston assess the growth in employment that its climate action planning initiatives will create and the extent to which various education and training programs are meeting that demand. Boston’s climate actions will create employment in these key areas: building decarbonization; transportation; energy supply and distribution (renewables and grid modernization); and efforts to make Boston more resilient to the impact of rising temperatures, increased storms and flooding and other impacts of climate change. Many new jobs could be created in these priority areas and many existing jobs could transition from brown jobs to green jobs. The City of Boston has contracted with Northeastern University's Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy to conduct the Green New Deal Workforce Needs Assessment. We seek your input in helping to assess anticipated job growth in these areas and the extent to which there are shortages of qualified applicants. The survey also seeks to understand employers’ area of focus, current employment levels, hiring plans, and training partnerships. Thank you for participating in our survey. Your feedback is important to our understanding of local employer need.
