For the last 12 months or so, the City of Forest City has worked to develop a draft of a new comprehensive plan. A comprehensive plan is a long-range land use plan for determining a community’s vision and goals and can guide development, growth, services, and preservation. This plan will help develop policies and guidelines for future efforts and decision-making.
The City has developed a rough draft and welcomes comments and feedback from the public. This is not a final version of the plan. Those comments and feedback received will be considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council for possible revisions to be adopted in the final plan. Following public comment of the draft, public hearings must take place before the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council before the plan is formally adopted by the City.
Comments and feedback for the rough draft will be taken until Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. You may submit comments multiple times.
