WELL REGISTRATION FORM |
The McMullin Area Groundwater Sustainability Agency (MAGSA) has adopted a Groundwater Well Metering, Monitoring and Construction Policy and Implementing Rules and Regulations detailing certain procedures relating to registration, construction, metering and monitoring of certain groundwater wells and related groundwater data sets pursuant to MAGSA’s obligations under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Included in the Implementing Rules and Regulations is a requirement to register all wells designed to produce more than two (2) acre feet of water annually within the MAGSA boundary. Section 2021.01 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations provides as follows:
2021.01 Well Registration
a) All existing groundwater wells located within MAGSA’s service area designed to produce more than two (2) acre feet of water shall be registered with MAGSA no later than January 1, 2022.
b) All new groundwater wells located within MAGSA’s service area designed to produce more than two (2) acre feet of water annually shall be registered with MAGSA no later than January 1, 2022 or within thirty (30) days of commencement of drilling for new well, whichever occurs later.
c) “Registration” shall include (to the extent known to landowner at the time of registration) well owner’s (landowner) name and contact information, assessor’s parcel number, well geo-location, date of construction (or reasonable estimate), well construction detail, a copy of the well completion report (if available), overall depth of well, and other such relevant information, as may, from time to time by appropriate regulation or ordinance, be determined to be necessary by MAGSA for implementation of the GSP and compliance with SGMA.
The following information is required for each well owned and operated within MAGSA.
If you own and operate multiple wells, you will be given the opportunity to fill out a new page within this form for each well.
If you own and operate wells under multiple companies/entities, please fill out a separate form for each company/entity for its corresponding wells.
