* 2. The proposed legislation will establish a Suicide Prevention Council as the key body that will oversee suicide prevention and postvention (activities related to supporting people bereaved by suicide) across South Australia. Do you support its establishment?

  • developing the State Suicide Prevention Plan including a part on suicide prevention in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community

  • advising the Minister on the State Suicide Prevention Plan’s effectiveness
  • receiving reports from government agencies on their suicide prevention plans
  • ensuring training in preventing suicide is available to the community and professionals
  • providing opportunity for community members working in suicide prevention and those with lived experience to voice their opinions and concerns
  • identifying opportunities, programs and policies in suicide prevention, treatment, crisis intervention and crisis postvention
