The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling endeavors to support attendance at the Nevada State Conference on Problem Gambling. Through the support of our generous sponsors we have limited funds to assist attendees in defraying the costs of attendance. Please review the following and apply for travel assistance.

The Council has established the following guidelines for the application and approval of travel awards for conference attendees. All travel awards will be determined by the geographic location of the applicant and provided in the form of a stipend to assist with transportation and lodging expenses.

General Information
- Individuals must first register for the conference to be eligible to apply for travel assistance funds.
- Applicant must be a resident of Nevada.
- Applicant must demonstrate a financial need and express a benefit value for attending the event.
- Individuals who are eligible for travel expense reimbursement from their employer, or any other organization, agency or funding sources, are not eligible to apply for Council Travel Assistance funds.
- Travel awards will not be issued in advance. All awards will be paid after verified conference attendance and receipt of required documentation.
- Approved applicants will be required to provide valid photo IDs for address verification when checking in at the conference event.
- Conference attendance will be verified.
- Travel funds will be paid only to the individual conference attendee, not an organization or agency.

Transportation Information
- Transportation support will be awarded based on the originating address of the applicant, in an amount determined by the Council for their county of residence.
- There will be no need to provide receipts for airfare or mileage, as the Travel Awards are not based on a reimbursement of actual expenses incurred.

Lodging Information
- Lodging support will be awarded for up to three nights stayed at the host hotel.
- Applicants will be approved for a predetermined stipend, not a full expense reimbursement.
- Submission of a paid hotel receipt will be required to verify lodging. Credit card receipts or emailed registration confirmations are not accepted for documentation of lodging.
- Lodging support will be awarded to only one occupant per hotel room.

Approval Notification
- Travel assistance awards are subject to the availability of funds.
- Notice of approval or denial of Travel Assistance requests will be sent to the applicant via email.
- To receive approved travel funds, the attendee must submit a copy of the approval email and your hotel receipt (if applicable) by April 10th, 2026.
- Payments will be processed within 30 days of receipt of all required documentation.

Eligibility Criteria
Limited travel funds are available for Nevada Professionals and registered members of federally recognized tribes who must travel 50 or more miles to attend the event. Travel Awards are available to support transportation and lodging expenses, on a case-by-case basis, as determined by the applicant’s financial need and availability of funds.

Individuals who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Must be registered to attend the 2026 Conference
- Must be a professional practicing in a health and human services field in the state of Nevada or an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe.
- Applicant must demonstrate a financial need and express a benefit value for attending the event.
- Cannot be eligible for travel funds through the employer or otherwise funded
Notice of approval or denial of Travel Assistance requests will be sent to the applicant by email. All decisions of NVCPG regarding this application are final.

The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling reserves the right to amend these guidelines and approve or deny applications for travel assistance funds, in its sole discretion. All decisions of the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling are final and there is no appeal process.
