Beginning in 2022, the Métis National Council has engaged with Indigenous Services Canada to develop elementary and secondary education initiatives, otherwise known as kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) education initiatives. Within the Education and Training Branch, the K-12 sector is the only area that does not receive federal funding. Along with other governing members, the MNO collaborates with the federal government to bring our K-12 education priorities to fruition and advance Métis education in Ontario’s public education system.
A vital part of the process is ensuring that the voices of MNO’s citizens impacted by the K-12 system are heard so that their needs and aspirations are fully realized and supported. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! We greatly appreciate your feedback on your experiences in Ontario’s K-12 education system.
The information provided will assist in advancing education priorities and demonstrate the need for support from the federal and provincial governments, along with other funders and school boards. De-identified information (information free of personal identifiers) will be shared within the different branches of the Métis Nation Ontario, with the Métis National Council (and Governing Members: Métis Nation British Columbia, Otipwmisiwak Métis Government, and Métis Nation Saskatchewan), Ontario Ministry of Education and Indigenous Services Canada (Government of Canada).
By completing this survey, participants (and caregivers) consent to de-identify, and aggregate data will be shared with governments. Participants may withdraw/alter their consent at any time. Participation is voluntary.
